A lot of people join Key Club because their friends do, or because they were in the Builder's Club
in their Middle School. But I have heard some funny stories about people joining because they thought it was a club about
keys, someone joining because she thought it was "Kay Club", and other interesting reasons.
Hopefully, you know by now that Key Club is an international service organization for High School
students. We are sponsered by Kiwanis International, which is our parent organization. The first Key Club started in Sacramento
with 9 students. The Key Club of Santa Susana High School is sponsered by the Santa Susana Kiwanis Club. We are part of Division
42 in the Cali-Nev-Ha (California, Nevada, and Hawaii- couldn't ya guess?) District. We have division meeting monthly, which
we encourage people to attend, as well as a yearly Divsion convention for all the clubs in California, Nevada, and Hawaii.
We are really lucky to have an active club at our high school. We help at a lot of local Kiwanis
sponsered events, such as the Lobster Festival and Simi Valley Days. However we also work at larger scale events such as decorating
Rose Parade floats, and collecting money for Unicef. Our schedules are pretty flexible- people sign up for events and times
that work for them, and if transportation is an issue, rides can usually be found. Although we do help with a lot of things,
we have fun doing it.
Hopefulyl, your experiences with Key Club will be fullfilling and fun. I know we are all looking
forward to another great year.

President- Melody Shee
Melody is a really awesome senior who is doing a great job with Key Club and just keeping everything
going well. She's helped me a ton with this site and will probably help in the building/updating proccess down the road.
Vice President- Katie
Katie is doing a really wonderful job helping Melody with Key Club stuff. She's going to help make
sure this year is great, and that everyone ahs a great time.
Treasurer- Agam Aurora
Another really cool senior, Agam is the guy who manages our money. He's been doing a good job so far keeping track
of dues, and just making sure Key Club is a cool place to be.
Secretary- Seema Ullal
That would be me. Yes, my name and I'm maintaining this site along with a lot of help from Melody. I joined Key Club
last year when I was a freshman and had an awesome time. I hope everyone will this year also.
Historian- Shannon Neis
Shannon is an awesome person who is so far doing a great job as our historian.
Her primary job will be taking pictures, but she also makes sure that Key Club is a fun place to be.
Sergeant of Arms- Bao Vuong
Bao is another great senior who makes sure that our meetings are functioning properly, with no uneeded interruptions
or disturbances, along with making it a welcoming environment for all.
